From the start you were always charming with the press
You keep repeating what the people want to hear
I can see through you and I’m hardly impressed
With your scared tactics and your state of fear

It takes confidence to send a child to death and keep your nerve
In the evening news you will weep for your country at every tragedy
Claim God is on our side and he will stay there for us
You have interests so you will never question the law or the economy
Let me ask is your God that dumb or do you overestimate his trust?
There are bullets flying in schools during recess
Yet a true patriot will minimize the act as it was another accident
You can’t change the constitution or the minds of rednecks
Who believe a gun is worth more than its citizens
You respond openly it’s for the people and not the glory
Give me a moment and allow me to laugh
We’ve heard it before and we know the story
Would you say the same if we cut your salary in half?
You will make us believe you’re a man of the people
You see me as prey and you will beg me to vote
Then run away when you will have to face trouble
