Dear Mother,
(When I think of you this Mother’s Day (2015))…
I feel like an orphan, never to be found;
A life of your womb, abandoned and drowned;
A soul cast out, by your own selfish hand;
A sacrifice of sanity, given to a foreign land.
Never were you there, to comfort my pain;
To soothe my wounds, or to hold me again;
Who was to lift me up, when I fell aground;
Is it he who is compelled to beat me down?
Do I thank thee for life or misery and despair;
For every breath or each desperate prayer;
Should I, count for you, every wasted tear;
Recall sounds of my heart breaking in fear?
How can I ever say Happy Mothers Day;
To the one who gave up and turned away!
